The Lambeth Method is an intricate Royal Icing piping cake decorating method which originated in England, but was made popular through a book by Joseph Lambeth, published in 1934.

If you want to make an impression or win a cake decorating contest, then this is the method to learn, and Tami Utley teaches it with ease.

Discover the tricks and tips Tami has for creating this work of art, then take those lessons to create your own.

This is a "must have" video set, and one that you'll use for many projects in years to come.

Tami utilizes cake decorating "tricks of the trade" with this cake. It's best to have the "Cake Decorating Made Easy!" basics under your belt, or have other cake decorating experience to get the most out of this video set!

Meet the Decorator...Tami Utley

When Tami Utley’s first child was born she wanted to make beautiful birthday cakes for him, like her mother did for her. After taking her first cake decorating course in 1990 she immediately became obsessed with gumpaste and started learning all she could about foreign technique. She started competing in 1991, and has won several Best of Show awards and numerous Best of Division and First Place awards. After a few years she started teaching and demonstrating.

Tami loves to learn all she can and has had classes with Nicholas Lodge, Geraldine Randlesome, Carole Faxon, Debbie Brown, Jan Svenson, Eunice Borchers, Lynne Rigby, Maureen Stevenson, Steve Stellingwerf, Roland and Marsha Winbeckler, and Betty Newman-May, plus many others. She has worked as an assistant for Nicholas Lodge and Colette Peters in their classes. And she has been featured in
American Cake Decorating Magazine several times and had her cakes in the ICES newletters.

Although she specializes in foreign technique cake decorating including Lambeth, gumpaste flowers, flood work, brushed embroidery, and bas relief, Tami thoroughly enjoys all facets of sugar art!

Beautiful Cake and Wonderful Method to Know December 14, 2009
Reviewer: Nancy Parent from Ludlow, MA United States
Sugar work and delicate piping have always been of interest to me, but left me feeling rather inadequate and nervous.  Tami does an excellent job breaking it all down and making it very do-able!  The lotus flower on top with the baby is adorable.  Now for every baby shower cake I do I make a personal size cake with the lotus flower and baby for the mom to be.  They love it!

A cake to impress November 5, 2009
Reviewer: Anna Cakeomania
This is the kind of cake you make when you want to impress someone or win a cake decoration competition. Teaches a lot of special piping techniques. But be warned, you need a lot patience to pull this one off.
Tami is a great teacher.

Great Method October 25, 2009
Reviewer: Marsha Reid from Miami, FL United States
Even though I have not yet made this cake, I wanted the video because I always wanted to know "how that method was done".  Well, Tami explains it perfectly.  She shows how to create the loops, how to pipe straight lines to get those intricate patterns.  She also shows how to make a really cute cake topper.  This was well worth the purchase !!

I got a blue ribbon at a cake show! October 15, 2009
Reviewer: Mary Slominski from Bellevue, NE United States
I watched this video, and the first time I made this Lambeth cake was for my mom's birthday.  It was a hit.  The second time I made it,about 1.5 weeks later, I won a blue ribbon at a cake show, and the best of division award!  It takes a little practice, but Tami explains the techniques so well, that even novices like me can do it.
