Great cake if you have kids. This video would be great to get the whole family involved with decorating. Tami uses lots and lots of candies to make the railroad tracks, the engine and making everything from store bought candies. It is Ok, but I don't have any kids at home to enjoy doing something like this...so not one of my favorites.

I made this to go around our Christmas cake which I'd based on a Santa Special train our family had been on together. The kids don't like traditional Christmas fruit cake but LOVED the chocolate/candy train. It was really fun to make but I bought way too many chocolate bars and other goodies so it cost me loads! If I did it again (I'm sure I will) I will have a better idea of what to buy for it. You probably don't need to follow a video as you can do whatever works but I followed Tammy quite closely just to be sure and it turned out really well. It was a big hit with everyone. Really good if your icing skills aren't best too!

I love this and what fun for all ages. My grandson and I are already working on the pieces of this train. He is so excited. Just looking and gathering all the different candies have been a challenge for us but with Halloween around the corner we are seeing more of what we need and the sizes are more readily available.

When I first saw the Holiday Express candy train, I wanted to make it for my children. The video goes into details on what kind of candies to purchase and how to make each car. I had problems cutting the licorise to make the track so I kept my licorise whole. I used a sugar cone for the tree. My husband wouldn't let anyone touch it-so my train didn't get eaten. I will try to make another train next Christmas because I thought it was a quick and easy project.

With the exception of traditional gingerbread houses, I don't like things made from store bought treats. Sorry. If you're not like me you'd probably like this video.
